You can send emails to Gary’s email address since I’m officially retiring on Nov. 21st. and have not set up a personal email yet. That address is bmwmech@windstream.net – or you can always call me at 205-504-0331.\n\nPlease make your plans to attend our last get together for the year.\nHope to see you there!!!!\nDarlene

SUMMARY:Lakehouse Retreat - July 2019
DESCRIPTION:No doubt it’s hot in Alabama in July. What better place to escape the heat than camping on the lake shore? The lake will be cool and at full pool so we will be able to enjoy it as it is meant to be! And if you get too hot…it will be easy to cool off…just walk right in! For those who have not attended before\, we are located near Pell City\, AL on Logan Martin Lake. \nArrive any time after noon Friday July 26 and claim your shady camping spot in the yard. We have plenty of room for tents and even several RV’s but sorry there are no electrical or water hook-ups. Be sure to bring your swimming suit and be ready for the fun. We will have the pontoon boat full of fuel and ready to go! \nFor those that want to ride\, there is great riding in the area including Mt Cheaha\, the highest point in Alabama\, The Talladega Super Speedway & Museum is close by as well. So you can ride around or just choose to stay in the shade and enjoy the lake! Fantastic riding abounds in the area and we will have a planned route on Saturday morning for those that would like to ride. \nWhat are we going to eat you ask? Well for those arriving on Friday and in time for dinner around 6PM we will again feature “Dump Stew”. If you are not familiar with this epicurean delight here’s how it works. Bring along a can of anything you choose to dump into the stew pot. Now normally this is some sort of canned vegetable but use your imagination! We will have the meat which will be stewed along with the other items dumped in and have bread to accompany it. You will be surprised at how good this will be! We will have breakfast on Saturday morning to get your day off to a good start\, not sure just what yet but you won’t go hungry. Lunch is on your own but we will take orders for the local BBQ restaurant for lunch and bring back to enjoy along the lake for those that stay and play. Then on Saturday night\, it’s a fish fry and all of the fixins along with Peach Cobbler for dessert. Then Sunday is go home day so we will set you off on you travels with coffee\, juice and pastries! \nDon’t want to camp? There are two motels in close proximity that you can contact for accommodations. The closest is the Big Bull Lakefront Motel. This is an old style one level mom and pop kind of place that has hosted fisherman for years. Recently renovated with new owners I believe. Never stayed there but would not be afraid to! Located at 4304 Martin St. S. Cropwell\, AL 35054 (205) 338-3344. The other option is the Quality Inn located at I-20 & US231 in Pell City. Their number is (205) 338-1314. There is also a new Hampton Inn at the intersection of US231 & I-20. Their contact number is 800.916.4339. The hotel is located at 220 Vaughn Lane Pell City\, AL 35125 \nWe’ll see you there!\nVance and Mari \nClick Here to let the organizers know you will attend this event. \nView Attendees who have registered online

SUMMARY:The Rebel Yell II - September 2018
DESCRIPTION:Event Fee – Per Person $30\nPrimitive Tent Camping Sites Are $10 Per Night\nEight RV Sites Are Available (No Hook-ups) $20/Night\nRegistration links are located at the bottom of this page. \nThe BMW Motorcycle Owners of Alabama are pleased to announce this upcoming event that will be held at the historic Old York Farms in Oakman which is near Jasper\, AL. This unique event is designed for both on road and off road enthusiasts. Old York Farms has a storied history. The site features more than 20 old buildings including a steakhouse\, gift shop and western store. Described by historians as being ‘as authentic as you can get’\, Old York shines with the ghost of the Confederacy and the old West. Nestled in the foothills of south Walker County\, York was the original site of the town’s first Post Office where in 1862\, Confederate troops were sworn in and was located in the rustic white house in the center of the heritage park. For nearly a century and a half\, the Corry’s have resided on the acreage in and around Old York. In its day\, York was a mecca for coal mining activities. Five saloons sprang up with the addition of the railroad – and one such watering hole – the Chamborden Saloon\, is recreated\, complete with the original bar\, liquor cabinets and mirror. \nBegin arriving any time after noon Friday September 14th and pitch your tent for the weekend. Join us in the Chamborden Saloon at 5:30 to kick off the festivities. At 6:30 we will gather at the Bull Pen Steakhouse where our group will be seated together in a private room. Dinner is on your own and we’ll order from their regular menu. After dinner we’ll return to the saloon for an evening social and ride planning meeting for the Saturday rides. \nSaturday will be ride day! Both the on road and off road rides will leave promptly on Saturday morning at 9AM. \nThe street riders will be divided into two groups due to size and ride style. Same route\, just different riding styles. The route will take you through some of the best roads in northwest AL. And there is a planned lunch stop at Nesmith’s Hamburgers in downtown Moulton (listed on the 100 places in AL to eat before you die) and a favorite stop for club members for years. The ride will return back to Old York around 3:30 or so. \nThe off road route will include some awesome dirt and forest service type roads that will be BIG bike friendly. This ride will wind its way through the woods and back roads of the area and will return back to Old York by about 3:30. \nSaturday night we will return to the Bull Pen Steakhouse 5 PM for dinner and afterward gather in the saloon once again where we will be entertained with a live jam type session with some of our own club members and local musicians. Don’t miss this part! \nPlease note Old York Farms is located in Walker County which is dry. Alcohol is permitted on Old York property but there are no sales there or even close by. Therefore please be aware that if you prefer an adult beverage\, you must bring these along with you. We will have some limited cooler space available but it will be best if you can care for your own provisions. And I know with the wealth of experience in this group that should not be an issue! \nHotel Attendees – If you require lodging other than tents or RV’s there are several hotels located in Jasper with the closest being the Sleep Inn which is located 13 miles from Old York Farms at Exit 65 on I-22 \nhttps://www.choicehotels.com/alabama/jasper/sleep-inn-hotels/al489 \nTent Campers – Tent camping will be on soft grass around a large cedar tree directly in front of the saloon. Restrooms will be close by. Showers may or may not be available as the park is coming out of hibernation from the winter so please be advised of this. \nRV Campers – There are several unimproved sites available some of which have 110v power\, water and sewer. Several sites also have 110v power only. So there will not be enough power to run AC units. RV’s please be prepared to “boondock”. \nWe will be collecting the event fee and camping fees at the time of registration and will remit the total to management on departure. If you plan to pay with cash at the gate instead of using a credit card in advance online\, we ask that you please make sure to have cash available in several denominations to make it easier on the cashier! Credit cards cannot be used at the gate. \nMeals at the steakhouse will be on your own and they will accept cash or credit card for those purchases. \nThis event is an open club event and will be perfect for one up\, two up or even non riders. The Rebel Yell has been in the planning stages for almost a year and promises to be a lot of fun. \nIn order for us to give the steakhouse heads up\, make sure you register using one of the links below. You may contact us by sending an email to alabeemer@gmail.com or by calling 205.915.5188. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nVance and Mari \nClick Here to register and pay with a Credit Card \nClick Here to register and pay with Cash at the gate

SUMMARY:Lake House Retreat - July 2018
DESCRIPTION:No doubt it’s hot in Alabama in July and that is exactly why we have chosen to move the lake retreat meeting to this month. The lake will be cool and at full pool so we will be able to enjoy it as it is meant to be! And if you get too hot…it will be easy to cool off…just walk right in! For those who have not attended before\, we are located near Pell City\, AL on Logan Martin Lake. \nArrive anytime on Friday July 27 and stake out your shady camping spot in the yard. We have plenty of room for tents and even several RV’s but sorry there are no electrical or water hook-ups. Be sure to bring your swimming suit and be ready for the fun. We will have the pontoon boat full of fuel and ready to go! \nFor those that want to ride\, there is great riding in the area including Mt Cheaha\, the Talladega Super Speedway & Museum among others. So you can ride or just choose to stay in the shade and enjoy the lake! Then on Saturday night\, it’s lasagna and fixins. And Sunday is go home day! What else does one need? The hotel is located at 220 Vaughn Lane Pell City\, AL 35125 \nClick Here to let the organizers know you will attend this event. \nWe’ll see you there!\nVance and Mari \nView Attendees who have registered online
